I don't know who reads this blog. But if you have gone for an exchange before or if you have been to Europe before, i need some advice.
I have 15 days. Should I
1) Travel to Italy only and extensively.
2) Travel to Italy for 10 days and Greece for 5 days. Is that too little and too rushed?
5 days to Athens and Santorini only seems sooooo little. Maybe i should keep Greece and Turkey for another day. But im greedy and i wanna go everywhere!!!

I think you should spend 15 days in greece or 15 days in italy. so choose one :-p
Anyways if you are going to Italy, florence is my fav city. their leather market is really awesome. And if you are looking for a place to stay in florence, there is a hostel/campsite near piazzale michelangelo where it is really cheap and you sleep in tents with beds inside. That hostel had an extremely great view overlooking the entire city.
If you are going to Venice, Harry's bar is the inventor of bellini (peach cocktail) and supposedly have the best bellini in the world. Harry's bar is beside St Marco Square. If you are heading there in end may/ beginning June, the Venice Biennale should be taking place at arsenale and Giardini. and check out the offshore islands famous for glass factories.
If you are stopping by Verona (between Milan and Venice), visit Juliet's house to see the world's most heavily vandalised apartment. Millions of chewing gums stuck on the walls, quite a sight. The juliet from "Romeo and Juliet"
Other than that, nothing much to say. I haven't been to other parts.
Hey, one last piece of news. Please look at the national arts council website. They are calling for interns for the 52nd Venice Biennale, I think it is a really good opportunity for you to spend 2 months in Venice at the expense of the singapore government :-p The entry dateline is 6th April, so hurry!!!
ehhh help me pull string can not. cos their period of 7 weeks dont coincide with my schedule leh. i.e. beg june to end july (i travel till end june), then i do nothing in europe in july then work for them for the 2nd part (end july) also very strange right. bleah. great tips! i forgot u were in italy for so long!!!
yeap.. totally agree with jiekai! 10 days for italy seems rather sufficient for me but 5 days in greece would be such a shame! maybe u wanna drop by austria for the last 5 days?
anyway, my personal fave for italy would be napoli and florence. do go pompeii when u're in napoli, and spend a lazing day in sorrento capri island, enjoying the mediterranean sea and warmth! and of coz, Sicily! i missed it the other time coz it was too rushed (spent about 8 days in italy i think), but with 10/15 days, i'm sure u can cover that!
for the road less traveled, go to tuscany region and lose yourself. we went to this lil' town (darn i forgot the name), and it offers an incredible view of italy's countryside. and not to forget their delicious rabbit stew.. :P
rome's kinda overhyped but it's a must see/must go.
enjoy! have fun! n hope to see ya around b4 i grad! :)
i suggest you apply for both the first and second batch. if you get first batch, you can still travel ma, last time what i did is i alternate days with my fellow intern. we work one day, then get one free day. if you want to travel longer, then you can work 4 days, travel 4 days, smthng like that. just make sure u get back to venice in time for work lol. if you get second batch, you can try to contact the first batch interns in venice and ask whether you can stay at their apartment for that 1 month. i have a lot of people bunking in with me when I was interning there, so its no big prob.
